ITO BINDERY was established in Sumida Ward, Tokyo, in 1938.
As a conventional family-owned printing company, it produces a vast variety of catalogs and pamphlets. Aiming to break out into unique branded products that are “easy to make and easy to use,” executive director who will be the third-generation president Masaki Ito used scrap trimmings from old catalogs to develop ‘Memoblock’ and ‘Drawing Pad.’ Recipients of both the 2010 Good Design Award and recognition from the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Mr. Ito’s designs exhibit simple and elegant forms. For CRAFTED FOR LEXUS, a more premium black base using high-quality paper was added.
